about me!

hiiiii :3 my name is smally and i'm an 18yo enby from spain aka the best country in this beautiful planet. i am currently rotting in college studying computer engineering and on my free time i love to spend time on my hobbies, mainly music and programming nowadays

i never used the internet that much while growing up (except for watching spanish youtubers play minecraft) but over the past few years i've grown tired of the current state of the web. social media, short-form content, algorithms... all that shit that those evil corporations use to get us to keep scrolling mindlessly, to keep consuming. i'm TIRED of allat and so i have decided to make my own website. there is no "goal" i am trying to achieve with this, i just want to create something, i want to make art. i don't even know how this website will look like in a year, but that's part of why i am doing this. i have no idea of where i'm going, which makes all of this really unpredictable and a lot more fun, as well as more fulfilling when i manage to make something that i'm proud of. anyways, here are some of my main plans for the site:

• fix an issue where the music player resets when changing pages
• making the website look better. i already like the background and i think the color scheme is good for now but the layout could have some changes. i'll think about it
• making an **actual** journal. i'll obviously keep the one where i write about the recent stuff i've checked out, but i also wanna be able to write about my everyday life. i don't know if i'd update that daily (because my daily life isn't that interesting lol) but it's still something i really wanna have
• share my programming projects. thanks to college i've slowly been getting back into programming and i currently spend a high amount of my time on it. i haven't made anything too remarkable yet but once i do i plan on sharing it here
• use the music section for way more than just reviews and playlists. i really really wanna talk about my favorite genres and artists in great detail. also, if i ever start making my own music (which for now is unlikely because i don't have TIME) i will post it there
• make a button for my site. this one is simple and probably will be the one i deal with first
• finish the main page adding a bit more information about me, especially regarding to my hobbies other than music

these are obviously not the only changes i'll do to my site but they're the main ones i wanna take care of. also pls send me any feedback (either through the guestbook or my discord), i'd highly appreciate it ♡

anyways, back to talking about me. here's a neat little topster with my favorite pieces of media :3 (no books or tv shows because i haven't consumed that many, i promise i'll add some in the future)

music is, by far, my favorite form of art. i've been listening to it all my life and thanks to my parents getting me into great artists such as billy joel or depeche mode, i've slowly gotten more and more into it. i'm pretty sure the first time i truly realized how impactful music could be was one day back in early to mid 2023. i was browsing through bowie's most popular yt videos when i came across the mv of a bowie song i hadn't heard of: blackstar. my mind was blown, it was a very weird song. i had never heard anything like it, i didn't even know music could sound like that. later that year i would start listening to full albums. projects like dark side of the moon or twin fantasy soon became among my favorite pieces of media ever and thanks to rateyourmusic i would have endless ways of finding new stuff to listen to. as the time of writing this (nov 4th 2025) i have rated over 2.1k releases and i haven't even scratched the surface of what music has to offer. i don't think i'll ever get tired of music, it has become an essential part of my life

it's really hard to summarize my music taste because i try to make it as varied as possible but my favorite genres include post-rock (best genre of all time), punk (especially post-punk, ska punk and post-hardcore), prog, psychedelia (especially neo-psych), shoegaze, ambient and drone, soul and funk and jazz (especially fusion). but if you really wanna see my full music taste then i highly suggest checking out my rym profile (i'm not a pretentious elitist i SWEAR)

for now this is gonna be it for the main page. i'll add a bit more in the future talking about videogames, films, programming and maybe even science, but for now this is it. oh, and below this i have decided to leave the old version of the main page, mostly for nostalgic purposes

Music

Right now music is my biggest interest. You can pretty much enjoy it anywhere, in any situation: while gaming, doing homework, taking a nap or going outside... There's lots of genres to get into and a lot of different moods. I love all sorts of art but music is very close to my heart ❤️. As of writing this I've rated almost 1.4k releases on RYM. My favorite genres include:

Videogames

I've been playing videogames for pretty much my entire life. I remember my first game was the DS remake of Super Mario 64. My favorite genres are platformers and RPGs, while shooters and competitive games generally don't attract me, and my favorite series are Super Mario and Persona. My top games are:

Programming

Not a lot to talk about on here. I have some knowledge in a few languages and I've done some small projects in the past, including my own small games, Minecraft mods and datapacks, and SM64 ROM hacks. I haven't shared any of them for now but I might do so in the future.

Anime/Manga

Playing the Persona series in 2021 had an unexpected consequence: A terrible weeb phase during 2022. Most of the anime and manga I've consumed was during that phase and I'm not as interested in it nowadays but it's still an important part of me. As always, here's my favorites:

Science
